Connect for Life with a Blood Donation
Do you have 45 minutes to spare to save the life of another person? By donating blood you connect your life with that of another person in need. The Connect for Life program is sharing compelling stories that demonstrate the profound connection between those who donate and those who receive.

STBTC is the primary source of blood and blood components for 100 hospitals and clinics in 43 south Texas counties.
South Texas blood donors gave generously in 2008 to make lifesaving blood available for thousands of patients: over 148,000 red cells and over 27,000 platelet components were collected. Still, every two seconds someone in the United States needs blood, and less than 5 percent of the eligible donor population gives blood.
