Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Center (PBSC)

The PBSC Center is one of the newest additions to STBTC. Working with the Be The Match program, the PBSC Center is the area used to collect a donor’s stem cells. These cells are donated to provide a lifesaving donation  to patients suffering from cancers of the blood, such as leukemia, and other blood disorders like sickle cell anemia.

Tour the PBSC Center for a closer look at how to register, why minority registrants are needed and the machine on which the process takes place.

TCBB

Texas Cord Blood Bank (TCBB)

TCBB collects, processes, tests and stores ethnically diverse, lifesaving umbilical cord blood donated following the birth of a healthy baby. Visit STBTC to see lab technicians hard at work on testing these precious gifts.

View the liquid nitrogen storage tanks and learn about its many uses and the benefits to storing umbilical cord blood.

QUALTEX

QualTex Labs

QualTex is the largest, independent non-profit testing laboratory in the U.S. for blood and plasma components. Our labs hold a variety of state-of-the-art machines used to perform 14 different tests on thousands of blood samples 24-hours a day. These cutting edge machines help ensure the safest blood components for hospital patients.

Touring the QualTex labs will provide visitors a glimpse of what happens after you have left the donation chair.
