Join a dedicated group of individuals who are contributing time and energy to a lifesaving cause. STBTC volunteers assist throughout the entire blood center and mobile blood drives. Orientation and training are provided.  Volunteers need to be at least 16 years of age.


Many of our volunteers come from technical schools, colleges and universities - a unique partnership that benefis STBTC and the schools that grant community service credits to the student volunteers.

STBTC has expanded the Volunteer Program and our team is eager to recruit and retain volunteers who are willing to commit their time, enthusiasm and skills to help our community.  STBTC has many volunteer opportunities that could provide intern and extern students the ability to accomplish their goals by providing non-paid services for invaluable work experience that will be gratifying as well as educational. As STBTC continues its journey in meeting the community blood supply needs, we have found that volunteering is a great opportunity to help our community and give students the training needed for today’s challenging work force.

Volunteeer Positions Available

Donor Recruitment Assistant
At mobile and/or promotional blood drives assist STBTC staff recruiters by helping them to promote the importance of donating blood. This may include helping to recruit new blood donors during sign-up and/or blood drives by providing basic information about what it means/takes to be a blood donor; and/or being our mascot “Harry Hemoglobin”.

Donor Appreciation Ambassador
At mobile and/or promotional blood drives, greet and converse with donors; help guide donor flow; answer basic questions about the donation process; observe donors & serve refreshments after donations; possibly distribute and/or record any gifts given to donors; thank donors for their contribution and encourage repeat donations.

Be The Match -National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Advocate
Assist NMDP recruitment team by educating and informing the community about the functions and needs of the NMDP at presentations and/or registry drives; and help interested individuals fill out a registration packet if needed.

Office Support
Perform different office support tasks in various departments at STBTC and its affiliates with filing, data entry, mail-outs, preparing recruitment and/or information packets, folding t-shirts, and other special projects as needed.
