Sandy Oaks community honors mother of three
The drive will be in remembrance of Taylor Castro, a mother of three who recently lost her battle with acute myeloid leukemia, an aggressive blood cancer.
As she fought leukemia, Taylor wanted her story to inspire others in her community to donate blood and join the Be the Match Registry®.
Donating blood helps patients like Taylor who are undergoing chemotherapy. Joining the marrow registry gives hope to the 14,000 blood cancer patients in need of a stem cell or bone marrow match.
“Even if I can’t find my match,” Taylor said, “if I found a match for someone else, that would bring so much joy and happiness to my heart because I would know I helped save someone’s life.”
